FABRIZIO FAVALE

«Fabrizio Favale is a poet and a choreographer. His dance has the ability to transmit a philosophical and inner voice to the technique. There is no story: it is made of twists, ‘imitation’ of wind, nature, animal movements, weightless but also very concrete atmospheric changes, and fascinating twiddles».

Massimo Marino, Corriere della Sera

duration 30’

Immersed in an empty and shiny space two undefinable figures appear and dance and build weird objects. Are they creatures in a dream or dreaming animals?

Lute means flickering embers in an old Italian dialect. They ‘perform’ a dream-like show with blurry contours, rich in suggestive images. Bodies shining like minerals, although being human, they become the territory of hybridizations with other genetic codes. The language they use in their dance is invented, resulting from the fusion of different codes as if to launch a message to all living creatures or to decrypt something among the endless number of words they can produce.

This work takes the audience to a undefined space of meditation. It is a drawing, a small and meaningless doodle, a riddle dedicated to the memory of Alan Turing.

A hypnotic dance describes a non-existing landscape, apparently bare and alien. It blurs the boundaries between what is real and what is imaginary. The Wilderness is a cyclical dance made of psychedelic movements. The geometries, repetitions and canons the seven dancers generate on the stage reminds one of the blooming of fractals in nature and of wild emotional asperities. The experiences they evoke are at the same time more mysterious and denser, and more difficult to decrypt.
